Zach Shallcross Proposed To Kaity Biggar With A 'Disco Ball' Ring

The final episode of The Bachelor finally aired, and, as many avid Bachelor viewers predicted, Zach Shallcross popped the question to...Kaity Biggar!
This happy ending didn't come without a fair amount of drama, though. Last week, Zach broke his no sex rule for Gabi—which led to confusion and, TBH, a lot of unfairness thrown in Gabi's direction. On top of feeling like she was "wearing a Scarlet Letter" during the Fantasy Suite episode, Gabi also announced last night that she was totally blindsided by Zach telling the world they slept together, thinking he would simply say he slept with "one of the remaining women."
"I wish you would have just sent me home and saved me all the pain that just went on and on," Gabi said during last night's episode. "I'm living it all over again but way worse than it was when I left Thailand, because I'm seeing it from a different point of view. I just thought it was between us… I get it, like, sex sells, but now I've become a narrative, and it's really painful."
Before his proposal to Kaity aired, Zach (kind of) cleared the air and apologized to Gabi in the Thunderdome, per Entertainment Weekly. Still, everyone (even Gabi) knew that Zach was ultimately going to pick Kaity. Reality Steve had already placed his bets, and a few weeks back, a set of photos from Zach's proposal leaked on Reddit, showing a woman who was pretty obviously Kaity.
So, since the proposal did, in fact, go to Kaity, one question still remains: are Kaity and Zach still together? Spoiler: Yes! Women's Health has gathered all the intel about the newly-engaged Bachelor couple.
Zach and Kaity are both currently living in Austin.
ICYDK after the Hometowns episode, Kaity and Zach both currently call Austin, Texas home. In a recent interview, Zach said the couple is living together in the city, too.
"Right now, the main emphasis is living together in Austin, getting to know each other more and more, and just see how things go," Zach told PEOPLE.
Prior to the finale, the couple obviously had to keep their relationship under wraps—which meant no public appearances in the city. Based on her Instagram, Kaity has clearly been living it up in Austin on her own, and previously told WH that she loves trying new restaurants. So, it's likely the couple will be spotted around the city very soon.
I can't wait to spend [time] with Kaity and just be out in public," Zach told PEOPLE.
Zach posted a very telling Instagram story earlier this month.
Prior to the finale, Zach already hinted at his relationship with Kaity via Instagram. ICYDK, Instagram stories are almost always clues about someone's relationship status.
Earlier this month, Zach posted what is practically a Gen Z equivalent to a Facebook relationship status update. The story in question was a picture of the sign of a popular Austin barbecue spot: Terry Black's Barbecue. "Best BBQ no question," he wrote in the post, via Reddit.
For those heavily invested in The Bachelor and more specifically Kaity Biggar, you may already know that she also believes this to be the best barbecue joint. Prior to the first episode of The Bachelor airing, Kaity confirmed this fun fact to Axios Austin, and later again on the Click Bait with Bachelor Nation podcast.
Zach's feelings were pretty obvious.
At the end of last week's episode, Gabi said that Zach was "only looking at Kaity" following the rose ceremony, and Zach's verbal confirmation that he's invested in Kaity seem pretty apparent. For example, Zach gave Kaity the first rose without much hesitation last week, and it seemed his second rose was a little more difficult to confirm.
Gabi also seemed pretty sure she wouldn't be chosen throughout last night's episode. In fact, before Zach could officially break up with her, Gabi said she knew what was coming.
"You don't have to say it," Gabi said during the finale.
Kaity said Zach helped her "believe in love "again.
Just before he proposed, Kaity gave a small speech about what her relationship with Zach meant to her, which proved to be very romantic and sappy.
"With every kiss, with every laugh, and with every 'Hello, hello.' I'm so in love with you… and I want to spend the rest of my life with you," Kaity said during last night's finale.
Zach also shared his own pre-proposal spiel.
"I can no longer say I'm falling in love with you, because Kaity Lane, I am so in love with you!" Zach said before finally popping the question.
Kaity said the Fantasy Suite episode caused some "issues" for her and Zach.
Until last night when she reposted Zach's Instagram post to her story, Kaity hadn't posted about Zach on her Instagram for over a week.
Instead, Kaity has posted a tribute to her friendship with Gabi, and a post that must have some kind of secret message—since Gabi and Ariel also posted the exact same photo with the same caption.
In the Thunderdome, Kaity admitted that Zach's behavior during the Fantasy Suite episode caused some problems between the couple, even when the episode aired last week.
"It was definitely a tough episode to watch back, I'm not going to sugarcoat that by any means," Kaity said. "Am I ever going to watch that episode again? Nope! Definitely not. But Zach and I have amazing communication, we pride ourselves on that... We have phenomenal communication and loyalty to each other, and we came out stronger."
There was rumor Zach might have been with another Bachelor contestant.
And it wasn't Gabi. Last week, Maria Ciuffo, or Ria from Chicks In The Office, posted a video revealing a rumor she had heard about Bachelor Zach. Apparently, according to what she heard, Zach and Kaity broke up, and Zach ended up starting a relationship with Jessica Girod, who was eliminated from The Bachelor several weeks ago.

However, this wasn't true. In the video, Ria even said multiple times that she "[didn't] know" if the rumor was true or not. Plus, Reality Steve debunked her claim on a recent podcast episode. "I cannot imagine this is true," Steve said on the podcast. "It makes zero sense."
Last night, Ria definitely took her false information in stride, tweeting several pictures in a clown nose after the finale aired.

Zach proposed to Kaity with a "disco ball" ring.
Neil Lane, a jeweler well-loved by the Bachelor Nation franchise, designed Zach's engagement ring for Kaity. The Bachelor contestant told PEOPLE that the ring reminded her of a "big disco ball."
Lane's ring is made of platinum and includes 150 small diamonds, and a center oval-cut diamond placed on a three-sided diamond band and surrounded by a halo of round-cut diamonds. It is 3.10 carats, according to PEOPLE.
Kaity and Zach are going to have a long engagement.
Although the Bachelor couple is definitely engaged, they are in "no rush" to get married. In an interview with PEOPLE, the couple said they are waiting to "see how things go."
"We have the rest of our lives together, so why does everything need to be a rush?" Kaity told PEOPLE.
The couple said they plan to get married around 2025, and may even invite a few other members of Bachelor Nation to the ceremony—including Ariel and Gabi.
As for other future plans, the couple is hoping to travel (Kaity also wants a beach house), and live a "normal life," per PEOPLE. They also (may) have some kids some day.
The couple guesses that their next big challenge in their relationship will be settling on a temperature for their shared apartment in Austin. Kaity apparently runs cold, while Zach runs hot. A very normal couple, indeed!
