All of our minds wander from time to time. But for The View host Whoopi Goldberg, this lapse in judgement happened while in the middle of filming the popular daytime TV talk show.

During a recent taping, Whoopi and co-hosts Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines and Alyssa Farah Griffin opened up about the subject of finances with their respective partners. Sunny claimed to be "fed up" with paying bills, while Sara and Alyssa shared what it's like to have different bank accounts with their husbands.

While the audience appeared to be intrigued by the conversation, Whoopi didn't seem too interested. What's more, when Sunny tried to loop her back into the discussion, Joy called out the Sister Act actress for her lack of enthusiasm. "Whoopi checked out an hour ago," Joy jokingly chided her longtime co-star, who spent the majority of the segment with her head leaning on her hand.

Despite getting put on the spot for the look of indifference on her face, the currently single Whoopi did, in fact, have an opinion on the sometimes controversial topic. As she later told her co-hosts, she felt that a woman should always have a little cash stowed away for later use — without feeling the need to justify it.

"If you're married, you should always have some money that's yours," she told her cast mates, with the other women firmly agreeing with her. "Because you don't need to explain why when you earn why you're buying this."

She continued: "If you're not paying for the things that you need in the house, that's a problem. But the things you pay for in the house, [that's] on the two of you. And then you have your own money to do what you want to do with it."

So, Whoopi wasn't completely zoned out after all!
