There are plenty of reasons to use Instagram. We use it to talk about body-image issues. We use it to announce happy news. We use it to post selfies. All of these reasons and more garner likes upon likes, and you might have wondered in the past exactly which of your posts were the most popular (you know, for the sake of strategy). Now you can find the answer to that question with the help of a website and app called Top Nine, a generator that allows you to see which of your Instagram posts your friends, family, and online fans liked the most.

You've likely already seen other people in your feed posting composites of nine photos and using the hashtags #topnine, #2018topnine, or some other similar phrase. If you don't remember these photo grids from years past, you may be wondering what the hashtags mean; they refer to the nine photos the user posted to Instagram that got the most likes — the best of the best, the most enjoyed by followers near and far. (By scrolling through the #topnine2018 hashtag, it seems selfies, nature posts, food, and major life events are big winners.) No matter how often (or rarely) you posted over the past year, the 2018 Top Nine generator can figure out which of your posts were the most popular. But how?

Well, it's pretty simple. First, you have to go to the website. You'll be met with a search bar that prompts you to plug in an Instagram ID (or handle, as most of us call our online aliases) and then your email address. Then all you have to do is press "Find My Top Nine" and wait for it to show up in your inbox. That's seriously all you have to do.
