Lauren Chan shines in the new photo spread from her Sports Illustrated Swimsuit debut!

The model was added to the 2023 rookie lineup on April 19, with the outlet dubbing her "a true multitalent who possesses the unique experience of having worked within various aspects of the fashion industry."

The former fashion writer for Vogue and Interview, who has also previously worked as the fashion features editor at Glamour, is the first openly queer, plus-size model to earn the title.

She uses her platform to advocate for size inclusion and has collaborated with high-fashion brands like Vera Wang, Christian Siriano, Valentino and Chanel, and has even founded her own inclusive luxury women's wear brand called Henning. In addition, she's an ambassador for the National Eating Disorders Association and sits on the advisory board for the Model Alliance.

SI Swimsuit editor-in-chief MJ Day said it best when she said, “Show us a person that’s more ambitious, driven and focused than Lauren Chan. We’ll wait…." She later added, "She is the epitome of beauty and brains and her passion and commitment to making space for all women is what we can’t get enough of.”

Chan said being a part of the rookie class of 2023 left her feeling "really at home,” comparing it to her experience as a rookie on the basketball team at the University of Western Ontario.
