Katie Holmes has always been careful to keep her private life private, especially where her daughter is concerned. But now that Suri Cruise is growing up—she turned 13 in April—she's been showing up more on her mom's Instagram.

On Thursday night, Holmes shared a photo on her Instagram story of her and Suri snuggling. The photo didn't have a caption, but the message of their holiday bliss seemed pretty clear.

Holmes seemed to be quite in the holiday spirit this year. She also posted a photo of herself in a Santa hat and a picture of a snowman ornament on a Christmas tree.

Suri doesn't show up on her mom's grid often, but when she does, it's usually in connection with a special occasion. For her 12th birthday, Holmes shared a sweet birthday photo of her pre-teen wearing a "happy birthday" crown. This year, she also shared a photo of her and her daughter volunteering together at the Moria Refugee Camp on the island of Lesbos in Greece.

Although Holmes is sharing more images of her life with Suri, she is careful to put her privacy first. The young teen's father, Tom Cruise, isn't part of her life, according to Us magazine: “Every person is allowed to see their child if they wanted to,” a source told the magazine in 2018. “He chooses not to because she is not a Scientologist.”

In an interview with Town & Country in 2017, Holmes said she puts Suri first when she's considering what kind of work she plans to take on—or anything else.

"My child is the most important person to me, and her upbringing is paramount to my work right now. It's very important that I'm present and she has a stable, innocent childhood. I feel so blessed to do what I do, but there's nothing in the world better than watching your child succeed."
