The young royals show great poise at historic funeral.

Prince George and Princess Charlotte were given a special part to play at their great-grandmother’s funeral today.

They were included in the procession that followed Queen Elizabeth II’s coffin into Westminster Abbey, where her funeral was held.

George, 9, and Charlotte, 7, arrived at the abbey in a car with their mother the Princess of Wales and their grandfather’s wife Queen Camilla.

Their youngest brother Prince Louis, 4, was left at home.

George—who became second in line to the throne when the queen died—wore a navy suit and Charlotte wore a black coat and a black hat with a bow on it.

The Wales children—formerly known as the Cambridges—walked between their mother and father Prince William as they walked into the church, and sat among the other members of the royal family as the service got underway.

King Charles III and heir to the throne William were both in full military regalia. Prince Harry, who was permitted to wear his uniform for a special vigil of the grandchildren by the queen’s coffin yesterday, wore a morning suit.

Princess Kate looked very like her daughter in a black dress and a veiled black hat, and paid tribute to the late monarch by wearing the queen’s pearl choker.

Duchess Meghan wore a black caped dress, a black hat and pearl earrings that were a gift from the queen in 2018.

At the arch, the queen’s coffin was placed into the state hearse for the final journey to Windsor Castle, where she will be laid to rest in the memorial chapel alongside her father King George VI, her mother Queen Elizabeth and her sister Princess Margaret.

Meanwhile the queen’s late husband Prince Philip will be disinterred from the Royal Vault at Windsor so that he can join his wife in her final resting place.
