It's the Yellowstone and 1923 crossover we've all been waiting for!
Kevin Costner (aka John Dutton) and Harrison Ford (who plays Jacob Dutton) were seen smiling ear-to-ear while sitting next to each other at the 2024 Golden Globe Awards. Safe to say that we're absolutely losing our minds at this!
The two stars looked especially polished in their suave black tuxedos and elegant bowties, proving that even those rugged Dutton cowboys can clean up nicely.
Anyone in tune with the Yellowstone universe knows why this is such a big deal. For starters, Costner and Ford are the stars of two of the biggest shows in the franchise. Given that info, you'd think that the two would have met for a chat at some point before this, but that's actually not the case!
Don't worry: We, too, were shocked by this fact. But at the 1923 red-carpet premiere last year, Ford revealed that he hadn't consulted Costner before joining the cast of 1923, which is a prequel series to Yellowstone.
"I respect Kevin enormously and his body of work and everything he's done, and the work he's doing in Yellowstone, but I'm on my own path," he told E! News at the event. "We haven't had a chance to catch up, but I'm looking forward to it."
It looks like the two finally got to engage in a deep conversation! I wonder what they were talking about.
In case you need a refresher on why these two characters might like to meet—Ford plays Jacob Dutton, the brother of James Dutton from the other Yellowstone prequel 1883. When James dies, Jacob takes over as head of the Dutton family ranch. Fast forward a few decades and Costner plays John Dutton, the current ranch owner and patriarch on the hit show Yellowstone. Presumably, that makes Jacob the great-great-grand-uncle of John Dutton. 🤯 Still feeling confused? Check out our Dutton family tree to get the whole picture!
Now, here's to hoping for more Yellowstone crossovers in the future!
