See Meghan Markle Depart from the Royal Train
Meghan Markle has had a number of royal firsts lately. Her first Trooping the Colour was on Saturday, as was her first appearance on the Buckingham Palace balcony, but today's "firsts" are particularly significant.
For her first solo appearance with the Queen and a day of events without her new husband Prince Harry by her side, Meghan Markle traveled to Cheshire, making her first trip on the royal train, something her sister-in-law the Duchess of Cambridge reportedly hasn't even done yet.
Per People, Meghan is "the first of the younger generation of royals to score a ride on the royal train for an official outing with Queen Elizabeth," indicating that she is quickly being welcomed into the royal family.
She and the Queen even had a bit of a sleepover last night as they traveled to Cheshire aboard the train, arriving at Runcorn Station this morning to carry out a day filled with engagements.
See video of them exiting the train here:

And a few more photos of the pair departing the car:
Clearly the ride went well because upon meeting David Briggs, the Lord Lieutenant of Cheshire, at the station, Meghan said “I’m very happy to be here.”
While no photos of the train's interior have been shared today, reporter Omid Scobie posted an older peek inside on Twitter. Initially designed in 1842, the train serves as a sort of mobile palace for royals when they're away from home:

On today's royal visit to Cheshire, Meghan is not only helping Her Majesty open Mersey Gateway Bridge, but they are also taking in a performance at a local theater, and will have lunch at the Chester Town Hall. Then they'll travel back to London on the train yet again.
