See James Hong Inspire With Riveting SAG Awards Speech

The veteran actor had the star-studded crowd roaring.

James Hong gave a compelling speech at the 2023 SAG Awards when accepting the biggest honor of the evening.

The stars of Everything Everywhere All at Once took home the award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture for their performances in the film, and Michelle Yeoh—who also became the first Asian woman to earn the award for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role during the ceremony—made sure to give the group's 94-year-old cast mate his proverbial flowers on stage for all to see.

The ensemble dedicated the honor to the veteran actor and their "inspiration," as he took the mic to present a lively and hilarious presentation.

Aside from busting a quick dance move and pointing out that he's been doing this for seven decades (name-dropping Clark Gable), he also championed Asian actors and gave a bit of insight as to why the win is so pivotal.

"Back in those days, I have to tell you this, the leading roles were played by these guys with their eyes taped up," he noted on Hollywood's growth. "And the producer said that Asians were not good enough, and they are not box office. But, look at us now, huh?!"

He then had the star-studded audience in stitches when he quipped, "We're not all Chinese, but, 'Jamie Lee' is a good Chinese name."
