On Saturday, Oscar award-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence married Cooke Maroney, a New York City-based art dealer, in a star-studded ceremony in Rhode Island. It's been reported that her wedding reception, with a guest list of 150 people, included everyone from Kris Jenner to Adele and Amy Schumer.

Their wedding venue? Belcourt of Newport, a Gilded Age mansion owned by Carolyn Rafaelian, a philanthropist and founder of the popular Alex and Ani jewelry company. The stunning property has a rich history: It was commissioned by socialite Oliver Hazard Perry Belmont and constructed for his horses in 1894 by architect Richard Morris Hunt. Belmont went on to marry Alva Vanderbilt, and they enjoyed many summers at the mansion. During this time, they converted the coach house into a ballroom, which is now one of the best event spaces in Newport.

The one-of-a-kind Belcourt mansion, located on the popular Bellevue Avenue, is in the process of being restored by Rafaelian, with a focus on sustainability. According to Belcourt's website, it's "among the few historic mansions that utilize solar PV and geothermal systems to offset environmental damage." The property's eco-friendly system offsets 15% of electric consumption through the process of geothermal heating and cooling.

Other highlights of the restoration include cleaning all of its statement chandeliers, including one that contains approximately 20,000 pieces and another that weighs 460 pounds. Vanderbilt's bedroom also endured major water damage, resulting in repairs that took more than 600 hours to complete.

While the restoration is still underway, Belcourt is open for public tours and events.
