The stunning home where the former first family spent their summer vacation is officially off the market.
From 2009 to 2011, the Obama family took to Martha’s Vineyard for their much-needed vacation time. While on the island, they stayed in the Blue Heron Farm in Chilmark Pond, a secluded property on 9.5 acres of land.
Built in 1961, the house was fully renovated by architect Rick Sunderberg and landscape architect Steve Stimson in 2006, and features a boat dock, infinity pool, basketball court, and pond. Inside are six bedrooms, seven baths, a chef’s kitchen, three fireplaces, and a guest house (for Secret Service or your in-laws). Floor-to-ceiling windows look out on expansive ocean views.
The house was put on the market for $22.5 million towards the end of the Obama presidency, and over time, the selling price was dropped of $15 million. The buyer was Menemshovitz Realty Trust.
