Country music singer and songwriter Jo Dee Messina is listing her custom-built Atlanta-area home for $3 million. The house its on five acres of surrounding property and was built for the musician in 2016.

The 5,000-square-foot home was clearly designed for entertaining and large family gatherings, and features a massive kitchen lit by natural light, fireplace and spacious dining and sitting rooms.

Fellow musicians will appreciate the office that can double as a recording studio and writing space. The backyard is enclosed and offers tons of privacy, a heated saltwater pool, hot tub and screened-in back porch (which is basically like finding gold in the south, especially during the mosquito-laden summers).

Enterprising homeowners will also love one major part of the home: there's a bonus one-bedroom apartment that is perfect for an in-law suite, an apartment for a live-in nanny or attendant, or even for use as a short or long-term rental. The separate apartment has its own full kitchen, living and dining rooms, a private entrance, and even its own laundry space.

The best thing about the home might be that it's somehow outside of the hustle and bustle of Atlanta but close enough to make it easy to get to the best parts of what the city has to offer. The Atlanta Motor Speedway is 14 miles away, the international airport is under 30 minutes down the road, and Mercedes-Benz Stadium is only 34 miles from your new front yard.

Messina is an iconic musician who enjoyed enormous success during the 1990s and 2000s. She has enjoyed nine No. 1 hits, 16 top 40 songs and earned recognition from the Grammy's and the ACM Awards.
