  • Candace Cameron Bure posted a photo of Bob Saget on Instagram in honor of the late star’s birthday.

  • Saget would have turned 66 years old today.

  • “Do I still say happy birthday? I don’t know how this works,” Bure wrote.

Candace Cameron Bure has long been public about the grief she faces in dealing with Bob Saget’s death. She even remembered her final texts with Saget with fans shortly after his passing. Now, the former Full House actress took to Instagram with a touching message to honor her late co-star’s birthday. Today, on May 17th, the Full House patriarch would have turned 66.

“I miss you 💔,” Bure wrote in her caption. “Do I still say happy birthday? I don’t know how this works, but I’m celebrating you today however badly my heart hurts ❤️🧡💛🥳.” The caption accompanied a black and white photo of her former co-star looking at her with a sweet expression.

The Full House cast, including Bure, was stunned when Bob Saget died last January from head trauma. Shortly after his death, Bure posted a heartbreaking Instagram tribute with a smiling photo and an emotional caption. “I’m not saying goodbye because you’ll never leave my heart,” Bure wrote. “Even with this gigantic tear in it 💔.”

Bure posted another message that same day, this time under a group photo of the Full House cast. “Thirty-five years ago, we came together as a TV family, but we became a real family. And now we grieve as a family,” the caption read. “...Bob, we love you dearly. We ask in Bob’s honor, hug the people you love. No one gave better hugs than Bob.”

The former Full House cast continues to honor his memory, not only on his birthday but every day. This past March, Bure and some of her Fuller House costars, affectionately known as the #fullerfamily, went live on Instagram together.

The crew went on a road trip and took the opportunity to discuss Saget’s passing while live on Instagram. Bure said that being together “helps the healing and the grief,” and that was a “big reason” they all agreed to the trip. “We think about him all the time…we talk about him all the time,” Scott Weinger noted. Andrea Barber remarked on the “healing” nature of the trip: “Just to be together, it’s the best therapy,” as Weinger and Bure agreed.

While the grieving continues, so does Bure’s love and admiration for Saget. We appreciate the star’s vulnerability and openness about her grief and healing.

Today, like many others, Bure celebrates Saget and honors his legacy.
