BTS and Halsey just wrapped their first-ever live performance of "Boy With Luv" together. It was, as you'd expect with BTS, jaw-dropping. The dancing was perfectly synced. And the passion was present for Halsey and the boys-V, Jungkook, Jimin, Suga, Jin, RM, and J-Hope-in every beat. Billboard and fans quickly shared videos of the song number on Twitter:

On the red carpet, Halsey talked to E! about performing with the boys. "I've got two very different performances tonight," she said. "The one with BTS is super fun and friendly. I think it really shows our personalities a lot. I think a lot of people are really curious about the collaboration because obviously the boys are from Korea, and I'm from the States, but I think that we really show that despite what seems like a language barrier at first is really just kind of like unimportant when it comes down to a bunch of young people who really love music and who just love hanging out and it really shows through."

Performing "Boy With Luv" live for the first time at the Billboard Music Awards has special significance. The BBMAs, after all, are where BTS met Halsey.

RM recently spoke in the boys' Beats 1 interview about how their collaboration with Halsey really began there. "We met two years ago at the BBMAs backstage,” he explained. “She told us that she became a fan after she watched music videos. We knew Halsey from 'Closer' [with The Chainsmokers], biggest song of that year. So we met backstage and she came to Korea last year, and we met again. We talked about, like, 'We should collaborate. We should work on something.' We got this track for this album and thought that Halsey would be the best voice for this track. It happened. Boom. Here we are."

BTS first performed "Boy With Luv" live, without Halsey, on SNL. Beyond their performance, BTS won the two awards tonight: the Top Duo/Group Award and Top Social Artist. Their Top Duo/Group award is history-making: They are the first Korean act to win that honor. The boys first performed at the Billboard Music Awards last year, choosing to do "Fake Love" on stage then.
