The Grammy Awards came late this year due to an outbreak of the coronavirus variant Omicron, but music's biggest night is finally upon us. While the Academy Awards usually serve as the bookend for entertainment awards show, we're going out with the Grammys this year. It's better late than never — and better than doing another virtual awards show.

All your favorite artists like recent Oscar-winner Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo, and Doja Cat are arriving on the red carpet wearing over-the-top designs only fit for the Grammys. And while the evening is jam packed with celebrity appearances, stacked performances (think BTS, Rodrigo, and Lil Nas X, according to Billboard) and many golden Gramophones to be given out, the iconic fashion usually takes the front seat.

Doja Cat

Doja Cat wore a Atelier Versace dress with a corset bodice and a completely sheer skirt. After she recently said that she would be "quitting" music, she clarified, telling Billboard that she would continue her obligations to tour with The Weeknd and then reconsider her statement.

Laverne Cox

Laverne Cox wears vintage John Galliano from Fall 2007. The gown has sheer panels, cap sleeves, and a completely see-through skirt.

Olivia Rodrigo

Olivia Rodrigo wore a black Vivienne Westwood gown with sequin detailing. She's nominated for seven Grammys tonight: Record of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Best New Artist, Best Pop Solo Performance, Best Pop Vocal Album, and Best Music Video.

She also just released a Disney+ special, OLIVIA RODRIGO: driving home 2 u.

Brandi Carlile

Brandi Carlile is nominated twice for Song of the Year at this year's Grammys.

"Same Devil" is nominated for Best American Roots Performance. "Right On Time" is up for Record of the Year, Best Pop Solo Performance, and Song of the Year. "A Beautiful Noise," her collaboration with Alicia Keys, is also nominated for Song of the Year. She arrived wearing a suit by Boss.

Leon Bridges

Leon Bridges is nominated twice tonight. He's up for Best Traditional R&B Performance and Best R&B Album.

Maren Morris

Maren Morris is also up for two awards tonight: Best Country Duo/Group Performance for "Chasing After You," her song with Ryan Hurd; and Best Country Song for "Better Than We Found It."

Japanese Breakfast

Japanese Breakfast, real name Michelle Zauner, wore a frothy Valentino dress on the red carpet. She's nominated for Best New Artist tonight.

Billie Eilish

Billie Eilish received seven nominations this year and arrived wearing a head-to-toe black Rick Owens look. She's up for Song, Record, and Album of the year.

Last weekend, Eilish won an Oscar for her song "No Time to Die" from the James Bond film of the same name.

BTS

The Korean supergroup is up for one award tonight, Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, but is also scheduled to perform. As usual, they're wearing Louis Vuitton on the red carpet.

Lily Aldridge

Lily Aldridge arrived at the 2022 Grammys wearing a strappy black Nensi Dojaka gown. Her husband, Kings of Leon frontman, is nominated in the Best Rock Song category tonight for "The Bandit."

Tiffany Haddish

Fresh off her Oscars appearance last weekend, Tiffany Haddish arrived on the red carpet wearing a shimmering, asymmetric sequined gown from Prada. Last year, she was nominated for a Grammy in the Best Comedy Album category.

Carrie Underwood

The American Idol alum is up for two awards tonight: Best Roots Gospel Album for My Savior and Best Country Duo/Group Performance for "If I Didn't Love You," her duet with Jason Aldean.

She arrived on the red carpet wearing a showstopping gown with an embellished corset bodice and an ombré skirt by Dolce & Gabbana.

Sofia Carson

Sofia Carson just released her first album, the self-titled Sofia Carson. She arrived on the red carpet wearing a deep green Valentino gown with a sheer cape.

Addison Rae

Addison Rae, who starred in He's All That last year, arrived at the 2022 Grammys wearing a sleek ivory-colored slip dress by Nili Lotan.

Chrissy Teigen

Chrissy Teigen's dramatic pink Nicole + Felicia Couture gown didn't just have ruffles, it had a huge pleated skirt and a wide belt. She finished the look with a pair of dangling diamond earrings.

Kelsea Ballerini

Presenter Kelsea Ballerini arrived at the carpet wearing a strapless black gown with a super-high slit. The sleek, stealthy Raissa Vanessa dress was also embellished with a white bow.

Halsey

If the hat wasn't scene-stealing enough, Halsey wore a deep wine-hued velvet corset with a draped black skirt by Pressiat. It's a full 180 from their completely sheer lace gown at the Vanity Fair Oscars after-party last weekend.

Donatella Versace

Superdesigner Donatella Versace arrived at the Grammys red carpet in sky-high, pointy-toed platform boots and a sheer corset mini with long sleeves.

St. Vincent

St. Vincent (aka Annie Clark) wore a look from Gucci's Spring 2022 show (the one that shut down Hollywood Boulevard) to this year's red carpet. She's nominated for Best Alternative Music Album.

Saweetie

Two-time nominee (Best New Artist and Best Rap Song) Saweetie arrived in a Valentino bra top and coordinating skirt in hot pink for an update on the very Marilyn "Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend" moment. She added matching gloves and a diamond choker to finish the look.

Mickey Guyton

Mickey Guyton is up for three awards tonight. She arrived on the red carpet in a beaded ombré dress that was silver at her shoulders and deep brown at her knees and wrists.

Megan Thee Stallion

Megan Thee Stallion is nominated in the Best Rap Performance category for her son "Thot Shit." She arrived on the carpet wearing her go-to silhouette, a body-skimming bombshell gown with a high slit, only this time it combined various animal prints and had a bold embellished bodice. This time, she enlisted Roberto Cavalli for the creation.

Dua Lipa

Dua Lipa took a break from her Future Nostalgia World Tour to hit the Grammys red carpet in a BDSM-inspired Versace dress (that Cindy Crawford wore back in '92). She added a huge choker and, oh yeah, debuted an icy blonde hair color.

Lenny Kravitz

Lenny Kravitz arrived at the Grammys wearing a Natalia Fedner draped mesh top reminiscent of Paris Hilton's greatest hits circa '00. True to form, he wore the sheer top with leather pants and boots.

Lil Nas X

Lil Nas X wore an intricate Balmain suit to the 2022 Grammy Awards, featuring pearls, quilting, and sky-high platform shoes. His suit had a butterfly motif embroidered on his chest and sleeves.

Cynthia Erivo

Cynthia Erivo told red carpet host Laverne Cox that her Louis Vuitton gown was inspired by armor. The silver hue and shimmering sleeves drove that theme home.

Hailey and Justin Bieber

Hailey and Justin Bieber (who is nominated for Album, Song, and Record of the Year) arrived hand in hand — as much as you can hold hands when an oversized Balenciaga blazer gets in the way. Justin paired his larger-than-life suit with a hot pink beanie and Hailey wore a sleek white strapless gown by Saint Laurent.

H.E.R.

H.E.R. channeled Aretha Franklin at the 2022 Grammy Awards. Her yellow jumpsuit featured a detailed phoenix embroidery and sheer sleeves.

Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker

Travis Barker also wore pink, a la Bieber and Sweetie, with an oversized fuchsia coat. Kourtney wore a cutout jumpsuit by Et Ochs and long sheer gloves. Travis's suit is by Givenchy.

Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga won her 13th Grammy tonight before she even arrived on the red carpet. For the occasion, she wore a black-and-white Armani Privé gown and Tiffany & Co. jewelry for an Old Hollywood throwback.

Avril Lavigne

Avril Lavigne's grammy dress featured the title of her new album, Love Sux, emblazoned across her waist. She was nominated for Best New Artist nearly two decades ago when her debut album, Let Go, hit the airwaves.

SZA

SZA arrived at the 2022 Grammys red carpet in a light-beige vintage Jean Paul Gaultier (Spring 2006) gown with delicate floral embellishment across the bodice and down the front. She's nominated for both Song and Record of the Year.
