See Adorable Princess Charlotte Arrive at Her First Day of School

Happy first day of school, Princess Charlotte!

This morning, Princess Charlotte—accompanied by her parents, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, and her brother Prince George—arrived at Thomas’s Battersea in London for her first day of school.

Wearing her navy blue school uniform with red trim, Charlotte held her mother’s hand as she walked to the door. Kate Middleton held her backpack as the little Princess happily played with her ponytail. Before entering the school doors, she shook the hand of a school official.

Although the first day of school can be daunting for any child, Charlotte will already have a friendly face on the playground: George, too, is a pupil at the school.

Like her brother, Charlotte is expected to adopt the surname of “Cambridge”—meaning her classmates will call her “Charlotte Cambridge.”

Previously, Charlotte attended Willcocks Nursery School in Kensington. In May, it was confirmed that she would attend Thomas’s Battersea. “We are delighted that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have decided that Princess Charlotte will join her elder brother, Prince George, at Thomas’s Battersea,” the school said in a statement. “We greatly look forward to welcoming her and all of our new pupils to the school in September.”
