In case you missed it, Gypsy Rose Blanchard has been engaged for the past few months. Yes, she’s currently in prison for the second-degree murder of her mother, Dee Dee, but she was able to meet her fiancé through a pen-pal program. The couple keep in close contact by chatting several times a week and sharing visits when they can. Things seem to be going pretty well for the pair; according to E!, he has already met her father, Rod, and stepmother, Kristy!

When the news of Gypsy’s engagement first broke, she and her family had plans to keep her fiancé’s identity a secret. “She keeps him very private,” Fancy Macelli, a family friend, told In Touch in April. “We’re not going to release his name or anything like that, but she does have a fiancé. That’s something she wouldn’t have ever been able to do with her mom: be engaged.”

But now, she seems to be ready to open up. It’s been revealed that Gypsy’s fiancé’s name is Ken. They haven’t shared more information about his identity, but going public is definitely a huge step. Here’s a photo of him meeting Gypsy’s fam in March. They look so happy together!

Fancy shared that the couple is planning to get married when Gypsy is out. (BTW, the 27-year-old is eligible for parole in 2024, just before her 33rd birthday.) Ken has given Gypsy a temporary engagement ring, and they have plans to pick out a real one.

“They’ll go together and pick out rings, obviously later, at a time when she’s out and they could do that and have their own intimate moment,” Fancy explained.

Honestly, it’s great to hear that Gypsy finally has a boo she can share with her friends and family. Mommy Dead and Dearest and The Act both showed that Gypsy had to hide every element of her relationship with her ex-boyfriend, Nick Godejohn. Nick is currently serving a life sentence for Dee Dee’s murder, but he recently described his time with Gypsy as “the best days” of his life.
