Meghan Markle was "golden and gorgeous" at the Ms. Foundation Gala in New York City earlier this week, her hair colorist Kadi Lee posted on Instagram.

Wearing an already sold-out strapless gold dress by Johanna Ortiz, Tom Ford sandals, and carrying a matching CH Carolina Herrera clutch, Meghan was at the Gala to receive a "Women of Vision award."

Her glam was done by her longtime team: makeup artist Daniel Martin and hairstylist Serge Normant, and her hair was colored by Kadi Lee of Highbrow Hippie, a salon in Venice, California.

"Kadi’s philosophy is healthy hair above all," her bio says. "Over the span of her 20 year career, Kadi has seen the damaging effect of color when done carelessly, and had developed a careful & thoughtful technique and approach that keeps hair health & integrity front of mind. Her skill set shines with this approach, slow and natural beauty."

Lee took to Highbrow Hippie's instagram to share how she perfected Meghan's hair for the Ms. Foundation.

"There is nothing like a warm and rich brunette," Lee writes. "For this shade, hair is first gently and finely painted, slightly off the root, being careful to not lighten past 3 shades from the natural color. Layers of gloss are then applied, and left on a minimum of 15-20 minutes, for maximum saturation, shine and staying power. The result is a reflective brunette with natural movement."

She continued, "The key here is to avoid that obvious highlighted look, and to leave others wondering if the final result could, in fact, be your natural hair color. As the warm season progresses, highlights on the under layers (never on the part) only need to be gently touched up, and the gloss reapplied every 2 months or as needed. This shade is ideal for the warmer months as we enter a low maintenance period where the last thing clients crave is having to maintain their hair color."

She signed the Instagram with "Wishing a healthy and happy spring and summer to all. -Kadi X" The comments are full of praise for Lee's work. One commenter, Megan O'Brien, wrote, "Holy crap @highbrowhippie the bright golden color when the light hits it !!! this could be her best color yet ♡" to which Lee replied, "thx Meg! Xx"

While Lee did not details what products she used, since she was working with Normant—and Normant's products are sold on Highbrow Hippie's site—there's a good chance those were used in perfecting Meghan's hair.
