Second annual DC Boat Show kicks off this weekend

NATIONAL HARBOR, Md. (DC News Now) — Hundreds of boats are moving into National Harbor this weekend for the second annual D.C. Boat Show.

“The D.C. boating community has really been growing over the last five years, I would say. And National Harbor being 15 years old, we just felt that it’s now the time to bring a show here and to promote boating and life on the Potomac,” said D.C. Boat Show Executive Kelly Stewart.

The D.C. Boat Show will feature everything from vintage and new yachts to sailboats, powerboats and even a new electric boat.

Families can tour a Nautiste yacht called “Patriot” along the harbor. The Patriot is a 72-foot custom Burger Motor Yacht built in 1961.

It’s the largest yacht in the show.

“With Nautiste here at the D.C. boat show to do is really just show that what we are about is not just the boats, which the boats themselves are beautiful, but it’s a beautiful experience as well,” said Nautiste Founder Hannah Puckett.

More than 200 boats will be bringing on the excitement and fun along the water this weekend.

The show will also feature food tastings, boating vendors and a golf simulator for families to enjoy. Families will also get a chance to hit the water in pedal boats, paddleboats or kayaks along the river.

The show will feature 12 distilleries and wineries with live music across three stages.

VIP ticket holders will also get a chance to enjoy the show from a private balcony lounge overlooking the water where they can enjoy a cigar experience, food from Fogo de Chao, beauty consultations and a special boat ride close to the monuments along the Potomac River.

The D.C. Boat Show starts Friday and lasts until Sunday afternoon.

Tickets are about $30 for general admission & $20 for active-duty military. VIP tickets are $225.
