Seaweed season in Florida: Live webcams show beaches ahead of 2024 Memorial Day weekend

There's only one word a beachgoer would use to describe sargassum seaweed: Bleah!

Raise your hand if you saw a big blob of sargassum seaweed on the beach and avoided it by stepping on hot pointy shells rather than set foot on the springy, crunchy, brown clusters of seaweed.

Should the sargassum seaweed stop you from a beach visit? Definitely not.

Just ahead of the weekend before Memorial Day (Monday, May 24), Florida beaches are still postcard-worthy when it comes to natural wonders, despite the dry brown crusty blobs that have cropped up recently in some parts (see photo galleries below).

We compiled a roundup of live beach webcams and sargassum photo galleries so you can see the Florida seaweed situation for yourself. You may need to refresh this page for livestreams.
