Seasons Collide Day After West Virginia's World Class Bike Park Closes For Season

Winter has come for Snowshoe, West Virginia and luckily it held off just long enough for closing day.

The mountain bike season ended just in the nick of time as snow blanketed the bike park just one day after the final bell of bike season.

Take a look at Snowshoe's first snow report of the year below.

It was also quite polite of the snow to hold off until it did because just three weeks ago the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup was held at the fabled West Virginian venue.

The Snowshoe Cup was one of the best of the season despite a rash of injuries in practice and at the race.

For those who are already eager for the next mountain bike season to start, Snowshoe is planning on opening back up in May, so mark your calendars.

In the meantime, if you're in the Southeast and need to scratch the mountain biking itch, head down to Windrock Bike Park in Tennessee. They are usually open almost all winter so that would be the spot to mix in some biking amidst the (subjectively) worst season of the year.
