A Seasoned Tech Exec Is Flipping Her Modern L.A. House Back on the Market for $4 Million

It’s been barely a year, but Jessica Schaefer already has decided to part ways with her Los Angeles residence nestled in Venice’s sought-after Silver Triangle neighborhood, just minutes from the area’s bustling Abbot Kinney Boulevard and picturesque canals.

The venture-capital communications veteran is asking a speck under $4 million for the contemporary spread she paid L.A. rug designer Erik Lindström nearly $3.6 million for in June 2022, shortly before Bevel—the tech-focused communications consultancy she founded in 2017—was acquired by Jeff Herzog’s Avenue Z in a deal valued at $75 million. In her new role, she serves as a board member and chief public affairs officer.

Centered around a two-way fireplace, the open-concept great room hosts a living room, dining area and kitchen.

Glitzy amenities include a 400-bottle wine cellar and dumbwaiter that stops on every level, plus a roof deck sporting a kitchen and barbecue setup, fire-pit, and glass railings that allow for sweeping views stretching from the Malibu coastline to the Santa Monica Mountains.

Resting atop a two-car garage, the boxy white structure is accented with glass and Japanese burnt wood. A main entry opens to a set of steps leading directly to the second story, which is spotlighted by a relaxing master retreat decked out with a sitting area, private patio, walk-in closet, and spa-inspired bath equipped with dual vanities, a soaking tub and an onyx shower. A flex space that currently serves as an office also can be found on this floor.

The dining area has brass light fixtures, a built-in credenza and an expansive window overlooking the leafy grounds.

Down on the lower level are an en-suite guest bedroom, laundry room and wine cellar; and up top, a spacious great room flaunting a soaring two-sided fireplace clad in reclaimed steel and antique nickel holds a living room and dining area, as well as a gourmet kitchen outfitted with pale gray Poliform cabinetry, a marble backsplash, an eat-in island and Miele appliances. There’s also a powder room and access to the roof deck.

The listing is held by Marci Kays and Jonathan Mogharrabi of Carolwood Partners.
