Season 2 of the post-apocalyptic fairy tale series Sweet Tooth recently dropped on Netflix, pitting the gentle, antler-bearing Gus and his fellow animal/human hybrid children against the menacing Last Men. The finale brought that season-long conflict and captivity storyline to a dramatic and satisfying climax (see you never, General Abbot), and concluded by sending the kids off on a whole new adventure.

Will there be a Season 3 of Sweet Tooth?

Netflix has yet to announce whether a third season of Sweet Tooth has been commissioned, likely because the second season has only just started streaming and a decision has not been made regarding the show's future. However, if a third season does happen, it could be the show's last. Sweet Tooth is an adaptation of a DC comic which ran for 40 issues, and the storylines that have already played out on-screen have covered material from roughly the first two thirds of the comic's entire plot, leaving room for one more season to bring Gus' story to a close.

What will Season 3 be about?

Season 2 ended with Gus and co. embarking on a new quest to Alaska, where he hopes to find his mother Birdie. Hot on their trail is Dr. Singh, who believes that experimenting on the hybrid children is the only way to find a cure for the plague that has eradicated much of the population. So it's safe to say that the majority of Season 3 would follow the kids' journey to Alaska, and whatever they may discover there.

Who will be in the cast?

The main characters of Gus (Christian Convery), Tommy (Nonso Anozie), Wendy (Naledi Murray), and Becky (Stefania LaVie Owen) are all expected to return, as is Rosalind Chao, who was introduced at the end of Season 2 and looks set to be a major new antagonist.

When will Season 3 be released?

There is no release date as yet, but a wait of over a year would be pretty standard. Season 1 of Sweet Tooth started streaming in June 2021, while Season 2 dropped in April 2023. So we're talking spring/summer 2024 at the earliest.
