Scott Disick Reportedly Enters Rehab for Substance Abuse

Update: Scott Disick's attorney, Marty Singer, told E! News that Disick was seeking help for grief, not substance abuse. Disick's parents passed away in 2013 and 2014.

"In an effort to finally come to terms and deal with the pain that Scott has been silently suffering for many years due to the sudden death of his mother, followed by the death of his father 3 months later, Scott made the decision to check himself into a rehab facility last week to work on his past traumas," Singer said. "He did not check in for any alcohol or cocaine abuse."

Singer adds that Disick is on his way back to Los Angeles after concerns over his privacy. E! reports that photos of Disick in a Zoom meeting were published online, violating Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) guidelines.

"Shockingly as a result of the HIPAA violation of the facility and his violation of privacy, he has checked himself out and is immediately returning home. We are alarmed by this extreme invasion of privacy and plan to take immediate legal action," he said.

Last week, Scott Disick entered a treatment facility to seek help for substance abuse in Edwards, Colorado, E! News reports, via the Daily Mail. The news follows Disick's past struggles with substance abuse, with his latest time in rehab coming back in 2017. Sources confirmed to E! News that Kourtney Kardashian was involved in the decision and that part of why he decided to seek help was to continue to visit with his children.

"It's true. Scott checked in last week. He had a lot of guidance from Kourtney and she demanded that he get help," a source told E! News. "Things have been bad the last couple of weeks and Kourtney won't allow him around the kids unless he gets treatment."

In 2017, Disick was hospitalized on a 5150 psychiatric hold, Page Six notes. At the time, the newspaper reported that Los Angeles County Fire Department received a medical call from Disick’s home on August 18. After his time at the hospital, E! adds that he entered rehab. He also sought treatment back in 2015 after much of his struggle with drugs and alcohol was documented on Keeping Up With the Kardashians. Even with his history of rehab, E! notes that Disick "has been sober for the past few years."
