Score Clear and TSA PreCheck for Less With This Discount

It’s a common debate: should air travelers invest in TSA PreCheck or Clear? Now, it’s possible to enroll in both programs at a discounted rate to make airport security a breeze.

“Clear is pleased to offer a seamless way to apply for TSA PreCheck,” Clear shared about the promotion on its website. “Simply walk up to any participating Clear enrollment location next time you fly and enroll in minutes — no appointment, no hassle. Now, bundle TSA PreCheck® and Clear Plus for the fastest way to your gate at the best value.”

Travelers can enroll in the new bundle for $199.95 here, and it includes five years of TSA PreCheck and the first year of Clear Plus. Separately, these individual programs cost $77.95 and $189 respectively, resulting in a nearly $70 savings by signing up via the package deal.

To finish the enrollment process, travelers will need to visit a Clear enrollment center at participating airports to finish their TSA PreCheck application. It normally takes three to five days for approval, though it could take up to 60 days, according to Clear. Once approved, a Known Traveler Number (KTN) will be created for a traveler to add to all of their future flight reservations.

Having both TSA PreCheck and Clear can help travelers minimize the wait at busy airports. With CLEAR alone, travelers can jump to the front of the standard security line using biometric technology to verify their identity.

But with TSA PreCheck, Clear members will be placed in front of the PreCheck lane rather than the standard queue. The TSA PreCheck line is often much shorter as “about 99% of TSA PreCheck® passengers wait less than 10 minutes,” according to the program’s website. Here, travelers won’t have to remove their shoes, laptops, belts, or light jackets.

Already have TSA PreCheck? When it comes time to renew PreCheck after five years, travelers can also renew for the program and enroll in Clear Plus. The bundled discount costs $190.95 per year when enrolling online, or $199.95 per year when signing up at a Clear Enrollment center.
