It’s safe to say that I’m a coffee table book fanatic. My living room shelves are filled to the brim with design books of all kinds, and many other favorite titles are scattered through the rest of my apartment. I always love flipping through these books for inspiration. After all, there’s something extra special about a physical page, particularly in the age of Pinterest boards and Instagram folders.

When I’m not looking at the pages, though, I love to admire all of these books’ beautiful spines and greatly appreciate the color they add to my home. Say what you want, but coffee table books are styling tools in their own right!

Where You Can Buy Coffee Table Books For Less

Many people ask me just how I’ve managed to accumulate so many coffee table books, knowing that titles generally cost a pretty penny. While I’ve definitely built my collection over a large span of years, I do have one little known resource that I love to draw on time and time again—are you ready for it?

My secret is that T.J. Maxx, Marshall’s, HomeGoods, and HomeSense are absolute goldmines when it comes to shopping for coffee table books! Scroll through the T.J. Maxx or Marshalls website and you’ll be greeted with all sorts of amazing design books and coffee table classics (like the Tom Ford books, for example) at discounted prices. Like all other products from TJX brands, these books are still brand new—they’re just being sold for much less, which is a total win-win! Change your mind about a book once it arrives? Simply mail it back or return it at your local store.

I haven’t had as much luck buying books at the brick and mortar T.J. Maxx and Marshalls stores, but I have scored big while strolling through the aisles of HomeGoods and HomeSense, neither of which offer e-commerce. Keeping my eyes peeled for books makes those standard HomeGoods runs even more appealing; I never know what I’ll see on the shelves. I’ve found that new titles make their way to these stores pretty quickly, so I don’t have to wait long once a book is published to scoop it up for less.
