Low-cost Icelandic airline Play is making a fall or winter European getaway more affordable with 30 percent off flights to popular destinations across the continent.

The sale, which is in time for World Tourism Day on Wednesday, is valid on travel from Play’s United States gateways to cities throughout Europe from October through March 2024, the airline shared with Travel + Leisure. To book, travelers must purchase their flights by midnight ET on Sept. 30.

“Being a tourist in a new country is all about experiencing new cultures, cuisine, and activities. This year, PLAY is celebrating tourists and the spirit of travel on World Tourism Day with an unbeatable discount to popular European destinations,” Birgir Jónsson, the airline’s CEO, told T+L. “With this deal and our affordable fares, travelers can make the most of their travel budget, elevating their bucket-list trip, solo vacation, or spontaneous getaway to experience all that Iceland, London, Amsterdam, Paris, Athens, Glasgow, and more have to offer.”

The sale is valid for travel from New York’s Stewart International Airport, Washington D.C., Boston and Baltimore — the first U.S. airport Play launched from last year — for travel to Reykjavik, Copenhagen, London, Liverpool, Amsterdam, Berlin, Frankfurt, Paris, Athens, and Glasgow.

The sale, however, does include several blackout dates from Dec. 15 to Jan. 8, 2024, and from March 22, 2024, to March 31, 2024.

Play, which operates a "hub-and-spoke model" in which all flights connect through Reykjavik before heading on to other destinations, first started operating flights in Europe in 2021 before finally launching its first flight from the U.S. The low-cost carrier charges travelers per flight leg for everything from checked bags to food and drinks, but offers a package that includes both carry-on bags and priority boarding.

Beyond a good flight deal, fall is one of the best and most affordable times to visit Europe. And for those hoping to stay closer to home, travelers can find great deals on flights to cities like Seattle and Los Angeles for fall.
