Scarlett Johansson has opened up about whether or not she would ever return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

The actress recently appeared on Gwyneth Paltrow's The Goop Podcast, where they spent some time revisiting their days with Marvel Studios. Paltrow, who played Tony Stark's love interest Pepper Potts, asked Johansson if she would be interested in reprising her role as Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow, to which she responded, “I’m done." Johansson continued, “Chapter is over. I did all that I had to do. Also coming back and playing a character again and again, over a decade of time, is such a unique experience.”

When Johansson asked Paltrow if she was done with Marvel, Paltrow shared a similar sentiment. “I think so. I mean, I didn’t die so they can always ask me," she replied, referencing the character death of Romanoff in Avengers: Endgame. Johansson and Paltrow then joked that Paltrow may go back in the future as a "64-year-old Pepper Potts."

It seems unlikely for Paltrow to return to the MCU as well, however, as she stated during Endgame era that she sees her time at Marvel ending. “I mean, I’m a bit old to be in a suit and all that at this point,” she previously shared. “I feel very lucky that I did it because I actually got talked into it. I was friends with Jon Favreau. It was such a wonderful experience making the first ‘Iron Man’ and then to watch how important it has become to the fans.”

Elsewhere in entertainment, the God of War and Horizon series adaptations will follow a formula similar to The Last of Us.
