From Scaling Fences to Swimming Through Intersections, Florida Alligators Had Quite the Week

Florida alligators had quite the week last week—even by Florida standards.

Two extra-crafty gators from the Sunshine State made headlines for displaying some frightening new skills. One was filmed swimming confidently in the middle of a busy road following heavy rains, and another was spotted nimbly climbing a fence. (Um, did you know they could do that?)

Facebook user Roger Light Jr. recorded the wily reptile taking a casual swim in a flooded intersection during a downpour in St. Petersburg on Thursday.

“One minute I’m just looking around waiting for traffic light to turn green, and then next thing I knew I see this gator coming towards me on my passenger side,” Light wrote alongside footage of the

Hundreds of miles away in Jacksonville, someone caught an alligator easily scaling at fence at the city’s Naval Air Station.
