Savannah Chrisley's ex-fiancé and former pro hockey player Nic Kerdiles has passed away. He was just 29.

Kerdiles was killed in the Nashville area in the early morning hours of Sept. 23 as a result of injuries he received after running a stop sign on his motorcycle and crashing into an SUV.

Police told local news affiliate WKRN that they were alerted to the accident just after 3:30 a.m. that morning. He was later pronounced dead at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. No injuries were reported for the other driver, who is not expected to be charged in the incident.

Police also revealed that there was no sign of impairment for the driver of the BMW, nor Kerdiles, though no further information about the possible cause of the incident has been provided at this time.

The former NHL player turned to real estate after retiring from his pro-sports career, working as a broker in Nashville.

Just a few hours before the accident, Kerdiles posted an Instagram Story of himself on his motorcycle parked against the sidewalk near a storefront, which he captioned "Night rider." He was wearing his helmet in the snapshot, so we assume he was also wearing it during the accident, though police made no mention of it in the initial report.

It's not clear if Kerdiles was in a relationship at the time of his death. He was previously engaged to reality star Chrisley, but they broke things off in 2020. The two reportedly remained close friends following their split. As news broke of Kerdiles' passing, the podcaster took to Instagram and wrote, "Heaven gained the most beautiful angel today. I miss you and I love you."

She continued, "I'll forever save our last messages of 'I love you'... Please send me a sign that you're ok... maybe it'll be thru a ham and cheese crepe.. or pasta with white sauce... or maybe even your favorite carrot cake."

The TV personality concluded her tribute with, "We loved hard...and I can't wait to ride bikes along the beaches of heaven with you one day."

One of Kerdiles' former teams, the Anaheim Ducks, also sent their love to his family on Twitter.

Fans of the team were quick to join in, with one writing, "Sticks out for Nic. Rest Peacefully."
