Savannah Chrisley Reveals Parents Todd and Julie's Reactions to Guilty Verdict

Todd and Julie Chrisley are preparing to appeal their convictions for tax evasion and bank fraud.

Todd and Julie Chrisley's daughter, Savannah, is opening up about witnessing the moment the reality stars learned of their fate in prison.

The parents, 53 and 49, were convicted of tax evasion and bank fraud in June, and sentenced to 12 and seven years, respectively, in November. Now, months later, the current matriarch of the family is reflecting on the moment in the latest podcast episode of Off The Vine With Kaitlyn Bristowe, especially since the entire family was certain that things would work out in their favor.

"I will never forget the moment, sitting in that courtroom—a four-week trial—every single day," Savannah, 26, told Bristowe. "And it took three days for the verdict to come back."

She continued, "I will never forget when they stood up to read the verdicts, it was like, guilty, guilty, guilty, like over and over and over again. And I just saw the look on my parents' faces. They were just in tears. We were not expecting that, we were like, 'There's no way.'"

She went on to confirm that the couple is set to file an appeal later this month, and maintains her parents' innocence. "100 percent," she said of her certainty, listing several reasons she believes the trial was unfair, including alleged lies from witnesses on the stand. "And I hope that this appeal will show those things."

And because of that, she also holds no resentment toward her parents. "...I know who my parents are," she said. "I know the things they have and have not done. I know the witch hunt. When the government wants someone, they want someone. They're going to do whatever it takes to make it look how they need it to look. There's no resentment whatsoever."

Savannah recently opened up on her own podcast, Unlocked With Savannah Chrisley, about the family's future production plans following the cancellation of Chrisley Knows Best and its spinoff Growing Up Chrisley, revealing that "tons of production companies” have reached out to her about producing a brand new series to explore their "new normal."
