Sarah Paulson and Matthew Perry

Sarah Paulson recalled her time working with the late Matthew Perry on 2006's short-lived TV series Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, praising Perry for his kindness.

While visiting The View, Paulson began by saying, "I just remember him as one of the most generous people on the planet." She then remembered how she got the job in the TV series with Perry's help, noting that she "needed that job very desperately." Paulson explained that the two had a connection through Amanda Peet, Paulson's close friend and Perry's co-star in The Whole Nine Yards.

Perry reached out to the American Horror Story actress to help her prepare for her audition, with Paulson telling the hosts, "He asked me to meet him in the parking lot for my final audition and I got in his car and he ran the whole scene with me multiple times so I could have a leg up on the other performer."

"And I did get the job. I absolutely credit him with taking that extra time, and he absolutely did not need to do that," she went on.

Paulson continued to praise the Friends star and his personal character: "He was just the kind of person that if you made him laugh or you made him smile, you felt like you had really arrived. I had the great pleasure of making him laugh a couple of times, and it made me feel really good. He is a wonderful guy."

In the Aaron Sorkin-created TV series Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, Perry starred alongside Bradley Whitford as producers for a live sketch comedy show (similar to Saturday Night Live), with Paulson's character one of the show's big stars who also happens to be an ex of Perry's Matt Albie.

"Her story about working with Matthew Perry was lovely and bittersweet ❤," wrote a fan in the comments on YouTube.

Perry passed away on Oct. 28 at the age of 54, and many friends and co-stars continue to share personal memories of their time with the late actor.
