If there’s one feature that Sarah Jessica Parker likes to play up when attending any sort of celebrity event, it’s her eyes. And, true to form, she kept the focus on her peepers for the Met Gala, according to makeup artist Leslie Lopez. See below for Lopez’s step-by-step guide to creating SJP’s sultry look

  1. With her fingers, Lopez applied Laura Mercier Silk Crème Moisturizing Photo Edition Foundation in Bamboo Beige ($48) to achieve an all-natural glow. “I only applied the foundation where it was needed to even the skin’s texture,” she explains.

  2. She then layered on Laura Mercier Shimmer Bloc in Golden Mosaic ($44) mixed with Laura Mercier Face Illuminator Powder in Seduction ($44) to the apples of her cheeks, temples, and décolletage.

  3. Next, Lopez created a smoky eye by first applying Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Colour in Tuxedo ($29) and mixing it with Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Colour in Rosegold ($29) on the eyelids to make them a bit lighter.

  4. Then she used her fingers to blend in Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Colour in Gilded Gold ($29) below Parker’s eyebrow bone.

  5. She completed the eye look by curling the star’s lashes with Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler ($20) and topping them off with a few coats of Rimmel London Extra Super Lash Mascara ($3).

  6. As her final step, Lopez created a natural lip by layering Laura Mercier Velour Lovers Lip Colour in Infatuation ($28) and Laura Mercier Lip Glace in Bronze Gold Accent ($25).
