Carrie Bradshaw’s maximalist outfits are back, but it’s actually her classic sandals that are causing a stir.
In a recent Instagram post teasing And Just Like That… season 3, Sarah Jessica Parker wore a giant gingham bonnet and a color blocked maxi dress, which, at first glance, you’d think would steal the show. But her followers were quick to recognize her iconic clog-like, strappy shoe as the Dr. Scholl’s Original Sandal.
The style rose to popularity in the 1960s and resurged in the early aughts, and Bradshaw even wore a pair in a 2002 episode of Sex in the City.

Since its debut, the wooden shoe line, which was originally marketed as one that could “exercise” your legs, has expanded to include the same sandal with a faux wood grain-printed rubber bottom — and you can get a pair for under $50 at Amazon right now.

It’s unclear which version Parker wore on set, but reviewers who have worn both love that the Dr. Scholl’s Classic Sandal taps into the nostalgia of the shoe from their pasts but improves upon its function. It has the same adjustable strap, the statement buckle, and the nailhead accents, but it’s even “more comfortable.”
“Was hoping these would be the same... and they were better,” one person wrote. “You get the same support from original wood Dr. Scholl's, but with a light weight rubber soul that lasts and is incredibly comfortable.” Another customer agreed that they’re “better” because they’re “cushiony,” “lightweight,” and “not loud when you walk.”

And a final shopper was taken aback by the changes at first, but came to like them. “The base gives a bit, which improves comfort, and the strong [hook and loop] closure allows an exact fit,” they wrote.
Carrie Bradshaw is subtly deeming this the shoe of summer, but if you’re not much of a trend follower or the clog-inspired shoe just isn’t your vibe, we found other Dr. Scholl’s sandals on sale at Amazon. Regardless of which you choose, a very supported, sunny season awaits.
