As fans of Sarah Jessica Parker know so well, the Sex and the City actress launched a book publishing imprint, named SJP Lit, back in 2022. And, ever since then, she’s had a critical role in publishing countless acclaimed books, including Coleman Hill by Kim Coleman Foote and A Quitter’s Paradise by Elysha Chang.

Most recently, Parker announced the pre-order of the latest SJP Lit-published book: Women and Children First by Alina Grabowski. “Magnetic, deeply moving, brilliant,” Parker wrote on Instagram when debuting the novel.
“Early reviews are in for Alina Grabowski’s Women and Children First and I couldn’t agree more with them,” she continued. “Thank you Kirkus, Publisher’s Weekly, and Booklist for sharing our love of Alina’s novel.”
Parker then went on to share a summary of what the novel entails. “We can’t wait to share this story with you: Women and Children First follows ten women’s lives as they grapple with the mystery and tragedy of a local teenager’s death in their small coastal town,” she wrote.

In the official description of the book, more details are revealed. The novel follows a small town in Massachusetts that turns upside down when a teenage girl, Lucy Anderson, dies under suspicious circumstances.
“As a mother grieves her daughter, a teacher her student, a best friend her confidante, the events around the tragedy become a lightning rod: blame is cast, secrets are buried deeper,” the description continues. “Some are left to pick up the pieces, while others turn their backs, and all the while, a truth about that dreadful night begins to emerge.”
In the comments of Parker’s post, fans are dying to get their hands on the new novel. “This sounds so good. I can’t wait.
