Sarah Hyland And Fiancé Wells Adams Really Like Interlacing Their Fingers

It all started in 2016, when Modern Family actress Sarah Hyland told all of Twitter how hot Wells Adams—a contestant on The Bachelorette at the time—was. But things really picked up the following summer, when Sarah found out Wells would be the bartender on Bachelor In Paradise. In case you were wondering, her excitement went a little something like this: “OH MY GOD @WellsAdams IS THE FRIKKIN BARTENDER?! Best. Season. Ever. #BachelorInParadise,” to which Wells cheekily responded with an offer for Sarah to be his barback.

And that, dear reader, was the tweet that launched the modern-day love story of this soon-to-be husband and wife into reality. And while Wells and Sarah have kept things consistent by documenting much of their romance on social media, I’ll relay it anyway:

After some digital back-and-forth, the couple met up in real life—a big deal considering Wells lived in Nashville at the time and Sarah was doing Hollywood things in, well, Hollywood.

Sarah describes their first date as “a real trial by fire because [she] told him everything that was happening,” per People. And by “everything” she meant the deets about the second kidney transplant she’d undergo three days after said date. But Wells stuck around. Through it all, Sarah had family, friends, and Wells, who’d FaceTime her during her recovery at the hospital.

In November of 2017, the couple went public with their relationship, and by August of 2018, Wells was packing his bags (and his pup, Boo’s) and moving in with Sarah and her two dogs in L.A. (Sarah was happy to be living with her BF obvs, but according to her, having someone to help keep the house clean was a pretty big score, too). After almost a year of living together, the couple took things to the next level this July, when they got engaged on the beach.

From the look of things, Sarah and Wells are doing well: They’ve got three adorable dogs to be in their wedding party and Sarah’s already “stalking” wedding Instagram accounts.
