Sarah Hyland Is Already “Stalking” Wedding Instagram Accounts After Getting Engaged to Wells Adams

The countdown is on. After Sarah Hyland got engaged to Wells Adams just weeks ago, the Modern Family actress is already in wedding planning mode.

Over the weekend, the couple attended a friend’s mountainside wedding and while Adams attended the rehearsal, Hyland took to her Instagram Story to share that she began doing her own bridal research of sorts. “While Wells goes and does the rehearsal part of this wedding that we’re at, I’m totally not lying in bed stalking wedding and bridal Instagram accounts… while watching Say Yes to the Dress,” she joked.

She added sarcastically, “No not me. I’m not doing that. What are you talking about?”

In addition to watching bridal television shows and getting Instagram inspiration for her nuptials, she’s also already made progress on one very important piece: the guest list. In a separate Instagram Story post, she wrote, “I just made a preliminary guest list?… It’s over 300. And I KNOW [Wells Adams] has more to add.”

Hyland’s posts come weeks after the couple’s swoon-worthy beachside engagement. Adams, a television and radio personality, proposed to his longtime love with a stunning, oval engagement ring.

Blue Nile Chief Merchandising Officer Katie Zimmerman told The Knot that the ring is likely at least five carats. “It’s no question that your eyes draw to the elongated oval shape, which I’d estimate is 5 to 8 carats,” she said. “We can estimate it’s a high quality color and clarity combination, which values the stone $50,000 to $80,000.”

Earlier this year, Adams spoke about his plan to purchase Hyland’s bauble himself. “Can I go on the record right here?” he said on his podcast. “I will pay for this ring, I promise you. It will come out of my bank account, okay?”

Zimmerman also predicted that the unique shape will continue to grow in popularity among brides-to-be. “This is on trend with what we’re seeing,” she continued. “Solitaire settings are our top seller and popular for emphasizing the center stone.”

Sarah Hyland and Wells Adams “met” back in 2017 when the former Bachelorette contestant asked his future girlfriend out via Instagram DM. Hyland told Jimmy Kimmel that Adams wrote: “The next time you’re in L.A., I’m taking you out for drinks and tacos.”

Despite their initial friendship, their relationship quickly turned intimate, especially after Adams stuck by Hyland during her second kidney transplant in 2017. “He’s seen me at my worst. I think that’s why I feel the most beautiful in his eyes, because he still finds me beautiful after seeing all that,” she told Self. “It was a really intimate start to a relationship to have to go through those hurdles at the very, very, very beginning when you’re just even getting to know a person. Also, falling in love with someone before you can really be intimate. I did not believe that that was a thing, but it is.”
