As social distancing and self-quarantining continue to be our new norm amid the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic, Modern Family actress Sarah Hyland opened up about how the virus is worrying her.

Sarah has always been open about her health conditions—she has kidney dysplasia and has had 16 surgeries, including two kidney transplants, because of it. Since coronavirus is easy to catch and poses an even greater threat to people who have preexisting health issues, she's understandably concerned.

Talking on the Brad Behavior podcast, Sarah said, "I am obviously immunocompromised with my transplant history, and am on immunosuppressants."

She went on to explain that while a "24 hour bug" can be no big deal to others, it can affect her in a totally different way. "I get it for a week or more. For me, it's really dangerous," she added. You can understand why she is worried about coronavirus, which tends to have flu-like symptoms and can lead to death.

Sarah continued, "My panic level is pretty high. But I also have a lot of health issues that are very susceptible to stress, so I'm trying to remain calm." While coronavirus still poses a threat, Sarah said her game plan is to stay inside and wear a face mask and gloves when she has to go to her doctor appointments. (Also, even if you feel totally healthy, if you can stay home, stay the hell home because you don't want to unknowingly transmit the virus to someone who is immunocompromised or the elderly, who are already at a higher risk of getting sick.)

After opening up about her own situation, Sarah then went on to call out all the "young, healthy people" who are raiding grocery stores and not leaving food or supplies for the elderly and those who can't afford to stockpile groceries. Truly, everyone should heed Sarah's advice because "it's really an important time to practice compassion, love, generosity."
