From Town & Country

On major occasions, from holidays like Christmas and Easter to anniversaries, birthdays, and, yes, royal weddings, fans often send letters to congratulate the Windsors or wish them well—and it's traditional for the royals to respond in kind, with correspondence of their own. Such is the case with Sarah Ferguson, who's been sending thank you notes to those who congratulated her on her daughter Princess Beatrice's recent wedding to Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.

As Sarah divorced Prince Andrew and is no longer officially a member of the royal family, her note looked a little different from the standard royal replies, printed on Buckingham Palace stationery. But as the Windsors' notes often do, Sarah's message came with a special, never-before-seen photo: a black-and-white image of the bride and groom holding hands on their big day. Instagram user @sarahji72 posted a photo of the reply—check it out below.

In her note, Sarah expresses what a special day Beatrice's wedding was, calling it "glorious." Read her full message below.

Thank you so much for your amazing caring and supportive messages for Beatrice and Edo's future happiness.

It was a glorious day; the sun smiled down on them. We were all delighted to be able to come together and celebrate their love for one another. Beatrice looked stunning and Edo handsome — their love shown through.

We are so happy to welcome Edo into our family and thank him for his love and devotion to Beatrice.

Thank you for many years of kindness and loyalty.

Sarah
