It must be an odd thing to watch a television show fictionalize your life, but Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, seems to have enjoyed The Crown's fourth season, which includes a scene centered around her 1986 royal wedding to her now ex-husband Prince Andrew.

“I thought it was filmed beautifully. The cinematography was excellent,” the Duchess of York said of the show in an interview with Us Weekly, while promoting her new romance novel, Her Heart for a Compass. “I loved the way they put my wedding in as well,” she said.

Ferguson, who is likely to feature more prominently in the show's upcoming seasons, is hardly the only royal to speak out about the Netflix royal drama. In a documentary made to mark her 70th birthday last year, Princess Anne admitted to having watched at least some of the Netflix series, and described it as "quite interesting," but she hasn't seen every episode.

Princess Eugenie has also publicly admitted that she's a fan of the series. "I did watch a couple of episodes of The Crown. It is filmed beautifully. The music is wonderful, the story is beautiful," she said. "You feel very proud to watch it. I can't speak for everyone but that's how I felt when I watched it."

And Princess Margaret's grandson Arthur Chatto has confirmed that he has tuned in. “Yes, I have watched it,” he told the Telegraph, “I guess it’s only an interpretation. So I just kind of remember what they’re actually like and don’t let the TV persona mar my judgment of any of them.”

Prince Philip on the other hand? He has no interest in the show. "A friend had dinner next to [Prince Philip] and asked him if he'd watched The Crown," Matt Smith, who played the Queen's husband in seasons one and two of the show told the Mirror in 2018. "He turned around to him and went, 'Don't be ridiculous.'"
