You probably recognize her from Virgin River, where she plays Lizzie. Dugdale is a Canadian actress who’s bilingual in English and French. Although she’s just beginning her career in the entertainment industry, she’s already accumulating fans with her nuanced acting abilities.

2. Does She Play Lizzie in Virgin River?

That’s correct. Virgin River tells the story of Mel Monroe, a woman who moves to the remote area for a fresh start. She quickly realizes that small town living isn't quite as simple as she expected, especially when past secrets begin to haunt her.

Lizzie was originally introduced in season two, but the character has a much larger role in seasons three, four and five. In the newest installment, Lizzie strikes up a romance with Doc’s new grandson, Denny, who puts her troubled past to the test.

3. What Happens to Lizzie in Virgin River Season Five?

In season five, Lizzie cleans up her bad girl persona and becomes a valued member of the town. Not only does she work at Paige’s bakery cart, but she also serves alongside the Mayor as chief of staff. Her position is put to the test when a wildfire threatens Virgin River and forces Lizzie to think on her feet.

In an interview with Netflix’s Tudum, Dugdale revealed that it’s been a dream to watch Lizzie go “from that bratty teen girl who thinks she’s the center of attention, and then getting thawed out by being in Virgin River and realizing that people care about her and she’s valued here, to having an important job in government and being mentored by someone like Hope, who I think is a badass woman who speaks her mind.”

4. What Else Has Sarah Dugdale Starred In?

Dugdale is widely known for playing Lizzie in Netflix’s Virgin River, but that’s not her only claim to fame. In addition to playing Claire on Mystery 101, she’s made several guest star appearances in shows like Supernatural, The Haunting Hour, The Secret Circle, Arrow, Rush and Aftermath.

Oh, and Dugdale is no stranger to the cheesy world of television movies. Her credits include Sugar Babies, Stolen Daughter, Sorority Murder, Woman of the House, The Bad Seed, Death of a Cheerleader and The College Admissions Scandal, where she portrayed Emma Slade.
