While I admit to getting weepy whenever I watch television—from Hallmark movies to episodes of Ted Lasso or This is Us, only a handful of films really move me. In Hallmark Channel's latest movie, Guiding Emily, Sarah Drew stars as a woman who has it all— great job, great boyfriend, great life—but then finds herself navigating a whole new world when she goes blind after a freak accident. Drew captures the character's emotional plight with a nuanced flair. Paired with her guide dog's (voiced by Eric McCormack) own training struggles the duo did me in.

Here's everything we know about Guiding Emily, including an exclusive Parade.com sneak peek. Take a look.

What is Guiding Emily about?

In this touching film, Emily (Drew) must learn to navigate her new life after she becomes permanently blind following an unfortunate rock-climbing accident. As she struggles to cope with her new reality, a potential guide dog named Garth (voiced by McCormack) is also struggling with his rigorous training.

With the help of Emily’s friend Matthew (Antonio Cupo) and Garth’s trainer Katie (Sharon Taylor), both make headway in their transitions. Through a series of missed encounters, both overcome their obstacles and Garth ends up being paired with Emily. With Garth by her side Emily takes on her biggest challenge yet, opening her heart.
