Back in early April, Sara Gilbert announced that she would be leaving The Talk after season 9 – and now, months later, her last day has officially come.

But before walking away from the CBS daytime program for good, The Talk show creator made sure to give her co-stars Eve, Sheryl Underwood, Carrie Ann Inaba, and Sharon Osbourne, one final emotional shoutout on Instagram.

"Thank you to my family at #thetalk for years of love and laughter. And special thanks to our audience for keeping our conversation going," Sara wrote on Friday alongside a photo of all the co-hosts together.

After seeing the sweet picture, many of her fans wished her best wishes for the future.

As Sara made clear back in April, The Conners actress decided to walk away in order to find a better balance in her life between work and her family. Sara explained that between producing The Conners and co-hosting The Talk, there wasn't a lot of time to see her children Rhodes Emilio, Sawyer, and Levi Hank.

"This is hard to do and something … that I have been struggling with for a while and going back and forth, but I have decided that it’s time for me to leave the show at the end of the season,” Sara said in April. "I obviously love it here, and like I said, this was extremely difficult."

But looking ahead, Sara will be plenty busy. Besides The Conners returning for season 2 this fall, she is also part of the season 3 cast of Netflix's Atypical and YouTube Premium's Weird City.

As for the future of the show, it was announced earlier this spring that Marie Osmond would take over Sara's chair. Marie is currently wrapping up the last few months of her Las Vegas show with her brother, Donny Osmond.

Needless to say, Sara will most definitely be missed. But, as they always say, the show must and will go on.
