Saoirse Ronan Is the Latest Celeb to Trade the Lob for a Blunt Bob
While many consider January the best time for a hair change, it's clearly fall that leads most A-listers to a fresh cut. Jennifer Lopez, Cardi B, Gabrielle Union, Lucy Liu and Dua Lipa are just a few of the stars who have debuted a shorter haircut in time for the chillier months. And now that list of stylish celebs includes Saoirse Ronan, who traded her trademark wavy lob for a sleek blunt bob that will convince you now is the season to get your life — and your hair — in shape.
Hairstylist Adir Abergel — who recently gave Charlize Theron an equally eye-catching cut — showed off the actress's sharp cut to Instagram on Friday: "New blunt vibes on this magical human," Abergel captioned a photo of Ronan in which her side-parted hair falls just below her chin. The actress completed the style with a tailored blazer, a red-orange lip, perfectly coiffed brows, and a fresh face that let her blue eyes and freckles shine through.
Last year Abergel spoke with Allure about working with Ronan for several red carpets, explaining his inspiration behind her notable looks. "I was looking at a lot of early Bowie — the Ziggy Stardust years — and Blondie, and some Patti Smith, and at early English punk rock movements," he explained. "I was looking at a lot of the constructions and deconstructions of all of those things."
So it's possible that Abergel was inspired by Ronan's own Little Women character for this press tour haircut. While trailers for the film show Jo March with long, wavy hair, that she often pulls into romantic updos and loose, effortless braids, it's clear her rebellious nature is more reflected in Ronan's polished style — after all, like Jo, this bob means business.
