Santoni Edited by Marco Zanini RTW Spring 2018

In his second collection for Santoni, Marco Zanini worked with vintage Lyon prints in rainbow colors. They were displayed in a stately palazzo with a backdrop reproducing the marble samples that Milanese architect Piero Portaluppi collected during his life.

“We entered a new world with Marco, based on excellent quality and this is rewarding us,” said chief executive officer Giuseppe Santoni. “We offer a few things at the highest level.”

There was a focus on outerwear: a deconstructed blazer, a Mackintosh coat, a functional K-way and aviator jackets embellished with patchwork or printed linings. Shapes of the men’s and women’s looks were easy and fluid, enhanced by exclusive fabrics: cady, techno satin, cotton and linen denim or poplin. A woman’s pantsuit had larger proportions and silk shirtdresses were floor-grazing. A patchwork sweater under a leather jacket worn over printed shorts had a young and fun touch. A floral trench over ankle pants played with masculine and feminine elements.

Pumps in woven leather strips in colorful hues contrasted with moccasins and monk strap shoes.
