When Is Santa Claus Arriving at Your House on Christmas Eve?
Santa Claus and his elves are busy at work preparing to bring all the little boys and girls their most desired wishes on Christmas Eve. We’re sure the little ones will want to know when jolly old Saint Nick and his fleet of reindeer are expected to land on top of your house.
Thankfully, the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) Santa Tracker is here to take the guesswork out of Kris Kringle’s long and arduous journey across the globe in one night. You and the kids can find out where he is in real-time, when he’ll arrive in your neighborhood, and how many presents he’s delivered to all the nice boys and girls.
NORAD has provided tracking capabilities since 1955. That’s 62 Christmas Eves so far, if you’re counting. What started as a mission to monitor potential air threats to the U.S. and Canada has turned into the organization indulging every kid’s fantasy of Santa and his sleigh ride.
You can track Father Christmas’ ascent from the North Pole on NORADSanta.org, starting on Sunday, December 24, as early as 2:01 a.m. Eastern Standard Time. There’s even a “livestream” video of Santa getting everything ready before departing his village.
After ?6:00 a.m. Eastern Standard time, volunteers will share Santa’s location to anyone who calls its toll-free number (1-877-Hi-NORAD) or emails noradtrackssanta@outlook.com. NORAD will also post Santa’s whereabouts on its various social media accounts.
Along with NORAD, Amazon Alexa users can ask for Santa’s location on December 24. OnStar subscribers can press the OnStar button in their cars to find Santa. Google is also offering its vast GPS services, where users can track Santa live on Christmas Eve, both online and on Chromecast.
Keep in mind, however, there’s no exact science for the tracking, considering weather patterns change all the time.
