Sandra Oh's Beauty Look at the Golden Globes Is Sent From Above

The 2019 Golden Globes are nigh, but firstly, did you watch Killing Eve? I mean, it's fine if you didn't (season one is on Hulu, no excuses), but if you did you would understand in your bones that Sandra Oh is here. Yeah, she stopped by at the last Emmys to say "it's just an honor to be Asian" but make no mistake, 2019 is the year of Oh. Yes, she's nominated for a Golden Globe award for best actress in a drama for playing the titular Eve in BBC's Killing Eve, but she's also hosting this year's Golden Globes, so we may all delight in her wit, charm, and grace for a full evening. Lucky us!

Benevolent presence that she is, Oh literally swanned onto the red carpet wearing what I can only describe as swan-couture but what others would simply call Versace (I'm a beauty editor, not a fashion editor) — fitting considering how swans are super majestic and beautiful but will also fuck you up if you try to mess with them (seriously, swans can be surprisingly aggressive).

Her makeup was done by Danielle Vincent with Giorgio Armani Beauty. Oh tends to always look classically glam, and tonight is no exception with radiant skin, a smoky eye, and lashes upon lashes, completed with a shiny rose-colored lip. Vincent applied what seems to be everyone's favorite luxury foundation Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation all over Oh's face and Armani Power Fabric Foundation in her T-zone for preemptive shine control. For cheeks, she applied Armani Neo Nude A-Blush in 54 for a natural, subtle flush.

For that smoky eye, Vincent used multiple shadows from the Eyes To Kill Quattro Eyeshadow in Paparazzi to build and contour the eye. For further ocular definintion, she layered and smudged Armani Smooth Silk Eye Pencil in soft black and plopped on a double set of Japanese lashes on top of Oh's lashes. And creating her rosy lip is Rouge D’Armani Matte 301 in Amber, topped with Lip Magnet 506 in Fusion.

What really completes the va-va-voom for me, though, is Oh's swooping, architectural, Hollywood-glam side-swept 'do done by hairstylist Ted Gibson, who used his own namesake's Shooting Star Texture Meringue to prep her naturally wavy hair. He divided her hair into a deep side part and then curled everything with a medium-barrel curling iron, set it with pins to keep those curls bouncy, and then secured the bottom into a faux bob with an elastic.

Sandra Oh is an angel among us and low-key always has been — but now is finally assuming her high-key angelic throne as the queen of television and the only thing I have to say about it is: my liege.

On an adjacent note: Please watch Killing Eve if you haven't. Season one only has eight episodes and I binged half of them on an Amtrak train and it was a thrill. It's suspenseful, surprising, but also funny, quirky, and stylish — the music on this show is *chef's kiss* perfection. Sandra Oh's chemistry with her foil (the purported killer of Eve), actress Jodie Comer, is seriously the best on-screen chemistry between women I've seen since Faith and Buffy. Both these women are phenomenal and I would watch them over and over on any form of public transport on a tiny iPhone screen because they are that compelling.
