Sandra Oh Had a Historic Golden Globes Night For 2 Major Reasons
Last year, Sandra Oh became the first Asian actress to earn an Emmy nomination and tonight she made Golden Globe history twice over.
The 37-year-old Globes host received the Best Actress award for her portrayal of Eve Polastri in the hit BBC drama Killing Eve. Not only was Oh the first Asian person to host the Golden Globe Awards ever, but she is now the first woman of Asian descent to win multiple Globes.
Oh delivered a gleeful acceptance speech. She started by yelling “Oh, daddy!” then continued on to express gratitude for her parents, Joon-Soo and Young-Nam Oh, and told them in Korean that she loves them.
