Sanctuary Rescues Mama Cow and Baby in the Nick of Time in Story That's Melting Hearts
I don't know about you, but I love a good animal rescue story. It's so heartwarming to see an animal learn what it's like to be truly cared for, even when it takes time for them to let their guard down. The only thing that can make a rescue any happier is when there's a baby, too!
I couldn't take my eyes off this precious mama cow and calf that @thegentlebarn recently welcomed home. The pair were mere hours, maybe even minutes away from being separated before this sanctuary's founder, Ellie, convinced the cows' owner to release them. Watching them live life together is the most beautiful thing!

Aren't they the cutest? It makes me so sad to think about either of them living in a place where the people didn't even know this mama was pregnant. She was being used as a cow for roping and clearly wasn't receiving regular veterinary care. I'm just relieved that both of them survived the birth with no complications!
Commenters like @thenakeddog can't stop talking about "the way I just fell in love with a baby cow." OMG, me too! I'd give almost anything to have a visit with this adorable calf, and it warms my heart to know it's not just me.
Luckily for us, anyone who's near Santa Clarita, California can visit The Gentle Barn on Sundays, when it's open to the public. You will need to buy tickets online, though! They also offer private tours, group tours, and cow hug therapy--how sweet is that? Maybe these two will be on the cuddle roster soon!
