“Good morning. 3 years after shaving it off. Protective styles, braids and almost no heat,” she captioned the post.

Fellow celebs and fans alike were in love with Lathan’s natural tresses and wondering what was the star’s secret for long, healthy hair.

“Beautiful,” singer Ari Lennox commented.

Gabrielle Union, who starred in Love & Basketball alongside Lathan, retweeted the photo captioning it with several emojis.

”So what did you use sis? This growth is outstanding,” a fan wondered.

Others weighed in too, probing the actress for more details and praising the progress.

Lathan regularly shares images of her hair journey on social media, showcasing different protective and natural hairstyles.

In a 2018 interview with Hello Beautiful, Lathan explained why she decided to shave her hair while filming Nappily Ever After.

“I had a lot of hair, it was long,” she said. “Many years of growing it. I was like ‘I’m an actress, I don’t have to do this.’ The technology they have today, it looks really natural. But the more I delved into the story and character, ‘I was like I would be doing this character and this story and what this means in this culture and our world a disservice if I do not shave my head.’”

Additionally, she told the Associated Press that she was getting tired of wigs and weaves. “I was ready emotionally for the ‘Big Chop,’ as they say,” she revealed. It also helped that Hollywood has made some changes recently. “There was a time when you wouldn’t be getting the roles unless you were wearing a wig or a weave. Nowadays it’s becoming more inclusive of different styles and there’s a consciousness that’s being raised in the industry, which I’m in love with.”
